Different Types of Smoke

There are two different types of smoke–wet and dry. As a result, there are different types of soot residue after a fire. SERVPRO of Adamstown Mohnton, was recently contracted to perform a commercial warehouse cleaning in Mohnton Pa. The customer purchased a 15,000 square foot warehouse space however they could not move in until heavy duty floor cleaning and sanitizing was performed due to eh company that occupied the facility before them. 

SERVPRO of Adamstown Mohnton was able to complete the floor cleaning in (1) day using a Tennant T16 floor scrubber along with SERVPRO's own Industrial Cleaner product! The office manager was extremely pleased with the results and happy that she could walk across the floor without slipping and sliding from the prior greasy residue. She also said the difference was like "day and night". Because of the excellent work performed, the customer requested additional services for the office space as well!

When disaster strikes too close to home!

Tanker Truck Meets Commercial Building

On Saturday, July 16, 2022, a hazardous waste tanker truck lost control on Willow Street and smashed into our SERVPRO Office here in Adamstown. Fortunately no one was injured and handling disasters like this is what we do!

SERVPRO responded immediately, provided shoring to the structure so the Adamstown Police and Fire Departments could coordinate the removal of the truck from the building. Once the truck was removed we built temporary walls to secure the building and tarped the roof to make the structure water tight. This is not the Grand Opening that we were hoping for, but we will be sure to make this disaster "Like it never even happened." Stay tuned for before and after photos and our official neighborhood grand opening! We are excited to work in and be a part of this historic and charming city.

Mold and Rot around garage door openings.

This single-family townhouse was experiencing warping and rotting around its two car garage door openings. This occurred due to constant moisture exposure from failed caulking around the wooden brick molding and door jambs. We responded immediately to provide the owner with a FREE quote. We were so ecstatic that they chose SERVPRO of Adamstown, Mohnton to address this issue and complete their small restoration project on their home. Our technicians removed all the rotted wood around the two car garage door openings and replaced the jamb, brick mold and weatherstripping with PVC to prevent this from reoccurring in the future and to make it look like it never it happened! SERVPRO is here for all reconstruction or renovation projects, no matter how big or small.

Lurking water behind wall and ceiling systems causing mold growth.

Water damage can be lurking behind walls and ceilings at any time. When this customer decided it was time to remodel his laundry room/bathroom, he was surprised when he found significant mold growth behind his finishes. Upon inspecting the area SERVPRO discovered that the wax ring from the above level bathroom toilet had been leaking for what appeared to be quite some time. Thankfully he called SERVPRO of Adamstown, Mohnton to complete the mold remediation! After remediation and cleaning was completed, the owner said "I may just leave it open like this because it's so clean". Having a great staff along with the access to some of the best cleaning products in the industry make it that much easier to do our job and keep customers happy!
